IKSURFMAG
SSUE 48 Title: Posito Martinez — IKSURFMAG Cover, Shot in Buen Hombre
Buen Hombre earned one of kitesurfing's highest honours when IKSURFMAG chose a shot of Posito Martinez — taken right on the Buen Hombre lagoon — as the cover of Issue 48. A magazine cover is the most prestigious placement in the sport, seen by the entire global kitesurfing community. This cover put Buen Hombre's turquoise flat water on the front page of the world's leading kite magazine, long before the location became widely known. It remains one of the most iconic pieces of international exposure Kite Buen Hombre has ever received.

Lonely Planet
WORTH A TRIP" Title: Worth a Trip: Buen Hombre — Lonely Planet's Secret Find on the DR's North Coast
Lonely Planet — the world's most trusted travel guide brand — dedicated a full "Worth a Trip" feature to Buen Hombre and Kite Buen Hombre. The article opens by comparing Buen Hombre to the legendary secret beach from the film The Beach, describing rumours spreading through Cabarete's bars about a wind-whipped, off-the-grid kitesurfing paradise drawing away the most intrepid adrenaline junkies. The feature names Kite Buen Hombre founder Riin Urbanik by name, telling the story of how she arrived as a traveller, felt Buen Hombre's wind and landscape, and dropped everything to build the school — with the help of the village's own good people. The article also appears in the printed Lonely Planet Dominican Republic travel guidebook, placing Kite Buen Hombre in the hands of travellers worldwide. This is not a passing mention — it is the definitive international introduction of Buen Hombre to the global travel community.

Red Bull
2023 Title: Deury Corniel Sets Dominican Republic Wing Foil Speed Record — at the Siete Hermanos Islands, Monte Cristi
Red Bull athlete Deury Corniel — also known as Adeuri, the name his mother gave him growing up in Cabarete — chose the waters of Monte Cristi's Siete Hermanos islands, just off the coast of Buen Hombre, to set the Dominican Republic's first-ever Wing Foil speed record in 2023, reaching over 64 km/h on flat water. Corniel described finding the conditions there as perfect: flat water, winds above 15 knots, and paradisiacal beaches. Red Bull documented the entire record attempt, bringing global action sports media attention directly to the Monte Cristi coastline that Kite Buen Hombre calls home. Corniel is one of the most decorated Dominican kitesurfers of his generation — Youth Olympic Gold Medalist in Buenos Aires 2018, Youth World Champion, and GKA Freestyle Vice World Champion in 2019 — and his choice of this coastline for a landmark record validated what Kite Buen Hombre has always known: Monte Cristi and Buen Hombre offer the best flat-water wind conditions in the Caribbean.

March 2024 Title: Davisito – The Story of Angel David Bonilla
IKSURFMAG published a dedicated feature on Davisito — Angel David Bonilla — in March 2024, telling his extraordinary personal story. As a baby, Davisito was severely burned, put into a coma, and survived over 40 surgeries. Despite this, he found kitesurfing and progressed within four years to become an official Ventum team rider and Dominican Republic Big Air Champion, training at Kite Buen Hombre. IKSURFMAG called his mindset "really impressive and inspiring." This feature gave Davisito and Kite Buen Hombre major international visibility across the global kitesurfing community.
