Best time to kitesurf in the Dominican Republic
The short answer
You can kitesurf in the Dominican Republic almost all year. In Buen Hombre the wind is solid from November to April and from mid-May to September, and the two lightest months are October and May. Buen Hombre averages about 15 knots and Cabarete about 11 (Windfinder), and Cabarete is windiest in July, August and half of December.

Is hurricane season a problem?
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November, but storms do not normally come before August, and the north coast of the Dominican Republic, where both our locations are, is rarely affected.
What water temperature should I expect?
Very nice, warm water all year, about 26 degrees Celsius at the coolest and a few degrees warmer in the shallows at low tide. No wetsuit is needed, and a lycra is good.
