Grand Grossier — also known as Banco Gran Grossier —
is a remote sandbar off the Monte Cristi coast in the northwest Dominican Republic.
You reach it by boat, and it has no road access or developed facilities.
The attraction is the environment itself:
shallow, clear water, open space, and a wild coastal setting.
For kiters, those conditions can create a remarkable natural playground.
For everyone else, it is simply a beautiful place to swim, snorkel, explore and spend a few hours far away from ordinary life.

intermediate and advanced kiters.

There is room to work on your riding, explore the sandbar,
and simply enjoy the feeling of having an enormous piece of water almost to yourself.
But let's be honest about it:
This is not where we send someone for their first water start.
For learning, progression, and easy access,
Buen Hombre is the better home base.
Grand Grossier is the adventure day.
Intermediate and advanced riders preferred.
Actual suitability depends on the day's wind, sea state and rider ability.

The trip from Buen Hombre takes roughly 40–60 minutes
depending on conditions and route.
That sounds like a long time until you realize
what the boat ride is doing.
